Description

This description wasn’t written by with AI, but I love this camera from my personal collection so much that it might sound like some jerky AI spiel after I’m done. This camera is an icon. When someone says “Polaroid camera” most people over about 35 get an image of a cream boxy camera with a rainbow stripe on it. If you remember Instagram for the first half decade of its miserable continuing existence, then you remember App icons showing a square camera with a rainbow stripe on it. This is that camera. Even the typeface used for the 1000’s model number, and the product name on the optional Polatronic flash, look as near as damnit to a perfectly 70’s sci-fi font that you will know called ‘Data 70’ by Bob Newman.

Features: As Polaroid cameras go, this one is actually very simple. I has a fixed focus plastic lens and some exposure adjustment via the little black knob on the front. The camera takes SX-70 film, which is still available but isn’t as readily available as Polaroid 600 film, and this is why we’re including some of our ND Filter gels so you can shoot Polaroid 600 film (640 ISO) in a camera that ordinarily gobbles SX-70 film (160 ISO).

Condition: The camera body and flash unit are in very good condition considering their age, with minimal signs of use (see gallery image, shot under harsh light so you can see any marks that are present). The camera and flash both function as they should, and have been film tested with several film packs. See the gallery for some test shots. The ND filters are a Film Cameras UK product, and are brand new.
