Olympus AF-1 (Infinity)

Now sold, sorry...

Description

The Olympus AF-1,  known as the Infinity in US markets, is an early Auto-focus 35mm point and shoot with a 35mm f2.8 Zuiko lens. The lens and sensors sit protected behind a sliding cover, which also stops the shutter firing when closed. It’s fairly well featured for an early compact camera, with auto loading, advance and rewind. A nice touch is that the auto-rewind leaves the film tail out, ideal for home developers.

The AF-1, released in 1986, has an auto flash which is very well balanced, only firing when absolutely needed unlike some of the later Olympus compacts. There’s also a Focus Lock feature which allows an off-centre item to be focused on then reframed (see the toy truck in a plant pot sample here).

Condition: This camera is in very good condition and full working order. It has been film tested with work samples shown here.
