Description

This is a classic 50mm f2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena ‘Tessar’ lens, with 4-elements-in-3-groups, 5-blade aperture diaphragm. It’s the striped-ring era commonly known as the Zebra version.

The mount is M42, with a 49mm filter thread. It’s semi-automatic in operation with the aperture ‘pin’ on the mount as well as a manual lever for stop down on the body.

Condition: This lens is in good working order, focus and aperture rings have been cleaned in a partial disassembly. The action is smooth and fast. Cosmetically it’s clearly not mint, but it’s clean and tidy, and has been used throughout the years. Optics are fungus free.
